Let’s Get Started

First things first. The burning question in most of your heads now should be, “What Masterminding really is?” There are many definitions of Masterminding but they all carry the core principle of Masterminding.

Perhaps only Dr. Napoleon Hill can best define Masterminding. He described Masterminding as the “coordination of knowledge and effort, in the spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

He continued, “No two minds can ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible, intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.”

To put it simply, Masterminding is an effective and practical process to provide solutions to challenges, problems, and goal-achieving through other powerful tools such as creative brainstorming, networking and accountability structures.

What is the core principle behind Masterminding? Masterminding happens when two or more people, in a spirit of harmony, tap into a creative source of power that is many, many times greater than the collective powers of each contributing individual. According to Dr. Hill, this creative source of power is the third mind, the Master Mind. And that is God, or the term you use for the all-powerful creative life force. I prefer to see it as the Master Mind, which is only made possible through the pure synergy of the group.

We will gain a better understanding of Masterminding through an example - always a richer source of ideas than a straight definition.

For example, let’s say someone is a computer hardware enthusiast. He enjoys modifying and tweaking his computer. This guy constantly buys the latest and newest hardware and reads any books and magazines related to his hobby. He spends any available free time on forums to scour new sources of information. Unconsciously, as times passes, his hobby has become his core genius, he is an expert in this field. The knowledge and the bag of tricks he possessed are in demand by many people. He decides to take this knowledge about his hobby/expertise and turn it into a book. If he has never done is before, like many first time authors, he would not have the slightest clue where to begin. It is unlikely he would know strategies that he can apply into his writing, where to apply for the ISBN code, how to get financing to publish his books etc.

A Mastermind group will be his greatest asset at this point in time. Instead of seeking answers to his many questions alone which can be time-consuming and extremely pain-staking? A Mastermind group can accomplish this effectively and in a much shorter time. Through the Mastermind group, solutions and ideas are generated quickly through creative brainstorming, from personal experiences and tapping the wide network of the group to find publishers, experienced authors and investors etc.

Masterminding brings limitless possibilities to the person being masterminded. You get ideas, solutions and contacts you could never come up if you were working on it alone.
